Worthy Brothers All,
Gentlemen our first fundraiser for the UltraSound Initiative will be a Pancake Breakfast after all the Sunday morning masses on August 14th. To make this event successful we need volunteers to help serve to all the those attending. We will have two shifts as noted below, please respond to me by this Sunday, August 7th. Please indicate if you can work first or second shift. If you are interested in being the cook on the grill please let me know. Also if you can only help clean up, let me know, that would be very helpful. First Shift - 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. - Set up tables, prepare food, make drinks, etc. Second Shift - 9:30 a.m. - Close - Same as first shift, tear down and clean up. Gentlemen if you can't work the event, please come with your family or friends and support the event. All proceeds are going towards helping to fund the Ultrasound Initiative that the council has undertaken in which we are raising funds so Birthchoice of Raleigh can purchase a new Ultrasound machine to save the unborn. We as Knights have no more important cause that we support. Thanks in advance for your help. Download Flyer Here
The council's second fundraiser to support the purchase of a new Ultrasound Machine for Birthchoice of Raleigh will be a golf tournament on Friday, September 23rd. The tournament will be held at Lochmere Golf Club in Cary, NC. The tournament will start at 9:00 a.m. and is a shotgun start. The attached flyer fills in all the details for you. Brothers as you know for this fundraiser to be a success we need to fill the golf course up, and that is where we need all your support. For those of you who play, please do your best to get a foursome and enter the tournament. If you can't get a full team, no worries we will get you matched up. We wanted to get this information out early so everyone has a chance to plan accordingly. If you don't play golf no problem, I'm betting you know more than one person who does. Brothers please spread the word to all who could be interested. We all as Knights have a special passion to help the unborn, this fundraiser is one of those opportunities to seize a chance to make a difference. Let's be sure to make every effort to make this event a tremendous success. Download Registration Form Here
Welcome to New Website
I had to upgrade the version of Joomla I was using from the old website. It required me to install a complete new version. Not all links are operational yet. Sorry for any inconvenience. I'm going to need everyone to re-register since I was unable to move the user database.
Saint John Paul II Shrine
The Saint John Paul II Shrine opened a new exhibit dedicated to the election of Pope Francis. Habemus Papam: The Journey from Conclave to Pope, provides insight into the life of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, now Pope Francis, and the process which elected him the 266th pope.
EXTRAORDINARY JUBILEE OF MERCY
Lord Jesus Christ,
you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father,
and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him.
Show us your face and we will be saved.
Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money;
the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things;
made Peter weep after his betrayal,
and assured Paradise to the repentant thief.
Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman:
“If you knew the gift of God!”
You are the visible face of the invisible Father,
of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy:
let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified.
You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness
in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error:
let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God.
Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing,
so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord,
and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor,
proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed,
and restore sight to the blind.
We ask this of you, Lord Jesus, through the intercession of Mary, Mother of
Mercy; you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever.
